If you want good BS and good food there ain’t no Atmosphere like Keensburg cafe or also known as Lil Don’s Dan Kennard might be gone, but his spirit lives on its place to get all your information and the latest gossip around the county just come on by. You might even get to see Roy Timberlake just asking him for a deal on Furniture Or even Andy Hocking heck I’m sure you can get an interest in oil Weil with him Better hurry, cause they’re both 86 years old You never know who you meet at the Keensburg cafe Why even State, senators and state representatives have been there Mayors sheriffs, and all sorts of politicians. It’s the place to be.

What a treat! This has got to be Keensburg's best kept secret. We heard about this place from a friend and then heard on the radio an advertisement and had to get over to try it out. The buffet was the best buffet around. Fried chicken like grandma used to make, all homemade fixin's, lasagna, beef and noodles, a great salad bar with pasta salad, fresh from the garden tomatoes and cucumbers, bean salad, coleslaw, and my favorite: pickled beats. They also had a wide variety of desserts: chocolate pie, coconut pie, pecan pie, cherry delight, and a brownie something or other...if you leave hungry from this place, there's something wrong with ya. We'll be back, with friends!

Food all home made, even rolls. Was well seasoned, and really tasty. Made from scratch food that is fresh . Salad bar crispy and many items. You can't find food like thiers anywhere around. Service is friendly. Best place we know of to get all home made food. Has a big selection. Always try to make you feel special. We love it there.

This is the best fried chicken you can find in North America as well as the rolls. This place is an absolute must. If you're stopping through keansburg, Illinois on a Sunday before noon, you better get there early because it will all disappear. Pretty sure the population of this town doubles on Sundays because of this restaurant

My boyfriend and I stopped here last Wednesday for the first time. We got there just before they closed at 1:30 p.m. and ordered burgers and fries. They were the best burgers and fries we've had in a long time. The waitress recommended the Sunday buffet that starts at 10:30 a.m. I took my Mom there today and we were there a little after 10:30 a.m. and there were already a LOT of people there. They were coming in from everywhere when we left! The church crowds know where to go! The food was delicious! Seasoned just right. They know how to cook there. And the pies were all homemade. This is not a fancy dining establishment. This is your off-the- beaten-path, hole-in-the-wall, Mom and Pop type dining experience, which to me, are the best places to eat. The food on the buffet is all homemade and amazing! The staff is friendly and down-to-earth and you can tell the customers are regulars. Their Facebook page is Keensburg Cafe Home of Little Don's Established 1970. Located about 7 miles outside of Mt. Carmel, IL in Keensburg, IL, just down the road from Timberlake Furniture.
